Liberty Mining Consultants offers the services of the professionals with over 250 years of combined mining experience in management, engineering, safety, production and maintenance. Our staff and professional associates have extensive experience in coal mining & processing, gypsum, platinum, and phosphate. LIBERTY collaborated with Addcar to commission the first Highwall Miner in South Africa. LIBERTY collaborated with Long-Airdox and DBT to present and promote the room-and-pillar mining system and equipment in India and Russia. LIBERTY personnel have extensive experience working with the regulatory agencies in the USA and abroad on mine plan approvals and regulatory compliance.

         

 

            

Ground Control – Comprehensive roof and rib support plan and mine layout reviews plus recommendations for both operating and proposed mines.

   

Operation – In-depth operational reviews and recommendations for improvements in continuous miner, bolter miner and longwall equipment systems. Similar reviews and recommendations have been made for surface (opencast) mines and highwall mining systems worldwide.

Downtime Analysis (Maintenance) - Data gathering on continuous miner and longwall systems to evaluate efficiencies, and recommended alternate new equipment and operating modifications for productivity improvements.

          

Training - Trained management, supervisors and equipments operators in the safe and efficient methods of operating continuous miners, roof bolters, bolter miners, battery coal haulers, diesel ram cars, shuttle cars, continuous haulage, longwall mining systems and highwall mining systems.

Mine Visits - Coordinated and hosted over 115 groups since 1993 travelling to the USA and South Africa for visiting underground and surface (opencast) coal and metal/non-metal mines to observe equipment in highly productive mining systems, including classroom training in all areas of mine management and mining systems.

Risk Assessment - Conducted over 1050 site visits at underground and surface mines plus surface facilities to determine risk exposure related to workers compensation, general liability, fleet, equipment and excess liability coverages.

Simulations – Performed mine-wide ventilation, operational cycle-time and ground control simulations.

Equipment Manufacturers - Assisted equipment manufactures in presenting their equipment and products for new mining methods and new technologies worldwide.

Legal – Information reviews and expert witness testimony in litigation of mine safety and accident related matters.

                

Utilizing our collective experiences in positions of managing director, vice president, mine manager, maintenance manager, engineer, supervisor and equipment operator, LIBERTY can help clients implement specific improvement to accelerate levels of productivity, profitability and safety through due diligence and then advising and implementing improvements. Our professional operators and trainers have completed projects at numerous underground and surface (opencast) mining locations worldwide. We conduct operation reviews, planning, and provide management, supervisors and equipment operators with assistance that results in significant productivity improvements in the most appropriate and cost efficient manner.

We focus on mine planning, scheduling, production, maintenance, ventilation, degasification, communication, coordination, safety, and the supply and support functions – recommending methods and improvements, and providing “hands-on” training to implement the recommendations.

Production Improvement – LIBERTY provides computer simulation, mine planning, management and training in underground coal mines that utilize continuous miner and bolter miner equipment in room-and-pillar and place-changing systems, along with longwall systems. We also provide similar services in surface (opencast) coal mines and with highwall mining systems. We have assisted in improving production with a company’s existing equipment as well as accelerating the learning curves when a company implements new equipment.

Risk Assessment – LIBERTY conducts underground and surface coal mines, underground and surface hard rock, metaland non-metal mines, coal preparation and mineral processing facilities site visits to assist insurance providers in determining risk exposure for workers compensation, general liability, fleet and equipment coverages.

Offering comprehensive services to a wide range of clients, the LIBERTY staff has performed projects and services for mining companies, insurance companies, equipment manufacturers, banking institutions and law firms.
